How to change air filter on MERCEDES W168 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Remove the windscreen washer reservoir.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – Mercedes W168. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 4
Detach the windscreen washer pump connector.
Step 5
Take off the filter lid. Use a crowbar.

Replacement: air filter – Mercedes W168. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 6
Clean the air intake hose. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the clamp that fastens the air filter hose to the throttle body. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Remove the air intake hose.
Step 9
Cover the air intake hose with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 10
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 11
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.

Check out the correct location of the filter element. Do not skew.Attention! Use quality filters – Mercedes W168.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 12
Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 13
Remove the microfibre towel from the air intake hose.
Step 14
Install the air intake hose and secure it.
Step 15
Screw in the clamp that connects the air filter hose to the throttle body. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 16
Attach the windscreen washer pump connector.
Step 17
Install the windscreen washer reservoir.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – Mercedes W168. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners.
Step 18
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 19
Close the hood.
