Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W168. AUTODOC recommends:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- Please note: all work on the car – Mercedes W168 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1
Open the hood. - Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car. - Step 3
Clean the fuel filter housing and the cover. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 4
Loosen the fastening clamp of the fuel filter pipe. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Detach the tubes from the fuel filter. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 6
Unscrew the fastener attaching the fuel supply line to the fuel filter housing. Use Torx T10. - Step 7
Remove the fuel line.Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W168. Tip from AUTODOC experts:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses. - Step 8
Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 9
Remove the fuel filter. - Step 10
Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – Mercedes W168. AUTODOC experts recommend:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Mercedes W168 – It's important to only use high-quality filters. - Step 11
Install the fuel line. - Step 12
Screw in the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use HEX No.H5. Use a ratchet wrench.
