How to change rear shock absorber on ABARTH 500 (312) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: shock absorbers – Abarth 595. AUTODOC recommends:
- Both shock absorbers of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right shock absorbers of the rear suspension.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 2Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
- Step 3Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
- Step 4Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Abarth 595
- Step 5Remove the wheel.
- Step 6Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
- Step 7Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #19. Use a tap wrench.
- Step 8Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #19. Use a tap wrench. Use a ratchet wrench.Replacement: shock absorbers – Abarth 595. Tip:To avoid injuries, hold the shock absorber when undoing the fastening bolts.
- Step 9Remove the shock absorber. Use a crowbar.AUTODOC recommends:Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.
- Step 10Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and fasten it.
