Hi i am looking for a workshop manual for a D4D KUN26R Hilux please?
BMW 1 Hatchback (E87) 116 i@CoscuDisalvo07.01.2023 18:57Memberthanks!- @Ryan Phillips04.11.2025 18:07MemberMate, I've been looking for mine for ages! Eventually found a PDF version floating about but quality wasn't brilliant. A mate told me some Toyota dealers might have access to the official manuals if you ask nicely - worth ringing around?
- @Katie Hill04.11.2025 19:34MemberHill My husband managed to get hold of one last year after searching for weeks. He ended up buying the Haynes manual from a parts supplier, wasn't cheap but it's been really useful for DIY servicing on our D4D.
- @LiCoKe04.11.2025 20:21Member@Ryan Phillips Yeah Toyota dealerships sometimes help out, though they can be a bit funny about it. I know someone who got theirs through a mechanic friend who had access to the proper service documentation.
- @Ellie_Watson05.11.2025 08:29MemberI'd recommend checking if there's a digital version available - much easier to search through when you need specific info. The KUN26R D4D is pretty well documented since it was such a popular model.
- @Ben Taylor05.11.2025 10:40Member@user_136977 From my experience, the Haynes workshop manual is your best bet if you want something physical. Covers all the essentials for maintenance and repairs. I've had mine for about 3 years now and it's saved me loads on labour costs!
- @P. D. Clark05.11.2025 12:14MemberBe careful with random PDFs online though - some are incomplete or for different engine variants. The 1KD-FTV engine in the D4D needs the right manual. I got caught out once with a manual that was for the petrol version by mistake!
- @connor.m05.11.2025 13:02Member@Katie Hill How much did your husband pay for his? I'm thinking of getting one but don't want to spend a fortune if there are cheaper options about.
- @Molly Edwards05.11.2025 19:34Member@Ben Taylor Do you reckon the Haynes manual has enough detail for bigger jobs like timing belt changes? Mine's coming up on the service interval and I'm considering doing it myself to save some cash.
- @JackWood05.11.2025 20:04Member@Molly Edwards I wouldn't tackle timing belts without proper documentation mate - that's quite involved on the D4D. The official Toyota manual has torque specs and proper procedures. The Haynes one is good but sometimes light on details for major enginee work.
