@Pabod199915.12.2020 15:40MemberJudging by the error code, it's required to replace the lambda probe before the catalyst.- TOYOTA AURIS (NRE15_, ZZE15_, ADE15_, ZRE15_, NDE15_) 1.33 Dual-VVTi (NRE150_)@GITO15.12.2020 19:41@Pabod1999MemberThanks a lot palany idea how much the part would costI have scrolled through in a few places and I can see many different prices....meaning i see many typeshow do I find out which is the correct one for my Auris ?thanks a lot

@Anna Johnson16.12.2020 18:53AUTODOC expertFor the correct selection of the lambda probe, you must provide the full data of your car.- TOYOTA AURIS (NRE15_, ZZE15_, ADE15_, ZRE15_, NDE15_) 1.33 Dual-VVTi (NRE150_)@GITO16.12.2020 23:13@Anna JohnsonMemberThank you Anna ,Here it is I give whatever I know. @Thalove198121.12.2020 16:32MemberThe problem is very serious, in any case, do not start the engine, but rather contact the service of your car for a complete diagnosis and identify the problem.
@Anna Johnson21.12.2020 16:37AUTODOC expertUnfortunately, according to the provided car details, we couldn't identify the correct alternative part for your car, as the problem is with the lambda probe.
Please check the Vin code if it is correct or please provide us with the OEN number of the old part.- TOYOTA AURIS (NRE15_, ZZE15_, ADE15_, ZRE15_, NDE15_) 1.33 Dual-VVTi (NRE150_)@GITO21.12.2020 17:21MemberVIN codeSB1KT56E40F004912thanksgito

@Anna Johnson22.12.2020 12:52AUTODOC expertThe oxygen sensor is the lambda probeThere are 2 of them on this car, before and after the catalyst. The OEN for lambda probe to catalyst 8946752070https://www.autodoc.co.uk/metzger/8030988The OEN for lambda probe after catalyst 8946512A50https://www.autodoc.co.uk/meat-doria/7757952The OEN is 89467-52090 - according to the originals of the lambda probe which is located in front of the catalyst.https://www.autodoc.co.uk/hella/15482765P2196 is a front lambda probe error. It means that there is poor contact with this sensor or the wiring is damaged. Also, this sensor could fail.- TOYOTA AURIS (NRE15_, ZZE15_, ADE15_, ZRE15_, NDE15_) 1.33 Dual-VVTi (NRE150_)@GITO22.12.2020 19:14MemberMany thanks Anna ,tody I have just bought a denso dox lambda sensor.....it's in the postwhen i get it I'll go to the mechanic and ask them to fix it.many thanks for your helpgito

@Warrhatiou30.12.2020 15:48MemberYou can try to process the junction of the lambda probe with the manifold with this LIQUI MOLY 3390 tool, and after a certain time try to unscrew the lambda probe. Do not make great efforts, because you can break off the lambda probe, and the thread will remain in the manifold, and to remove it from there, you will have to drill. If you are not confident in your abilities, then contact the service.- @Erico21.01.2021 18:33MemberHello lovely people,I have got a similar issue with my Toyota Urban Cruiser 2009 model here in Aberdeen Scotland. Registration no: PJ59 JROThe error code reads: P2196 O2 Sensor signal Biased/Stuck Rich Bank 1 Sensor 1.Could you please advise how to get the right model of the Oxygen sensor if you think that’s the issue. Thanks for your response in advance.
@Anna Johnson23.01.2021 13:30AUTODOC expertPlease provide us with the Vin code of your car and we will try to help you.- @user_145593812.03.2023 18:30@Anna JohnsonMemberWhere I can find it?
- @C/C/Z05.06.2025 17:48MemberHello,
The P2196 code points to a faulty upstream oxygen sensor (before the catalytic converter). For your Auris, it's likely the front sensor—often a Denso DOX-0506, but confirm your engine type just to be sure. And yes, the sensor socket makes removal much easier. - @grace.rob.1206.06.2025 14:17MemberI’ve been getting that p2196 yaris code for a few days now, but the car still seems to run fine. Is it okay to keep driving for a little while with this code, or could it cause more damage if I don’t replace the sensor right away?
- @ruby___c.09.06.2025 12:48MemberI had the same code pop up on my Corolla a while ago. Did changing the O2 sensor actually fix it for you, or was it something else? Just trying to avoid spending on a new one if it’s not gonna do anything.
