Judging by the error code, it’s required to replace the lambda probe before the catalyst.

      Hello Pabod,
I have got a similar issue with my Toyota Urban Cruiser 2009 model here in Aberdeen Scotland. Registration no: PJ59 JRO
The error code reads: P2196 O2 Sensor signal Biased/Stuck Rich Bank 1 Sensor 1.
Could you please advise how to get the right model of the Oxygen sensor if you think that’s the issue.
Thanks for your response in advance.

For the correct selection of the lambda probe, you must provide the full data of your car.

The problem is very serious, in any case, do not start the engine, but rather contact the service of your car for a complete diagnosis and identify the problem.

Unfortunately, according to the provided car details, we couldn’t identify the correct alternative part for your car, as the problem is with the lambda probe.
Please check the Vin code if it is correct or please provide us with the OEN number of the old part.

The oxygen sensor is the lambda probe
There are 2 of them on this car, before and after the catalyst.
The OEN for lambda probe to catalyst 8946752070
The OEN  for lambda probe after catalyst 8946512A50
The OEN is  89467-52090 – according to the originals of the lambda probe which is located in front of the catalyst.
P2196 is a front lambda probe error. It means that there is poor contact with this sensor or the wiring is damaged.
     Also, this sensor could fail.

Morning and a Very Merry Christmas to you.
yesterday I took my car to a friend and he said the actual sensor is all seized up…….very rusty around the manifold and is very difficult to take it off.
ANY IDEA ON HOW TO DO IT PLEASE ???
Is it possible that the actual one could break or damage something ?
Ia there any special solution available to loosen it?
    Many thanks for your help

You can try to process the junction of the lambda probe with the manifold with this LIQUI MOLY 3390 tool, and after a certain time try to unscrew the lambda probe. Do not make great efforts, because you can break off the lambda probe, and the thread will remain in the manifold, and to remove it from there, you will have to drill. If you are not confident in your abilities, then contact the service.
