Hi all. My first post

I have just acquired a 2018 C1 Flair. My question is regarding the usb socket. I generally listen to my music in a memory stick plugged into the usb. But what if I also want to mirror my phone for the satnav? Do I have to have either music plugged in or the phone? Or can I get a 2 way splitter and use both at the same time. I have a splitter, but I don’t want to try it incase I cock something up! Has anyone used a 2 way splitter?

TIA.

Ohh, nice ride—welcome to the C1 club! (Don’t worry, we’re a lot less exclusive than we sound, haha.)

About your USB dilemma: in your 2018 C1 Flair, the USB port is basically like the bouncer at a trendy club—only gonna let one device in at a time. If you plug your memory stick in, you get your tunes. If you wanna use Mirror Screen (Apple CarPlay or Android Auto) for satnav and other apps, then your phone’s gotta be the VIP plugged into that same USB spot. Sadly, your memory stick will be left out in the cold—no dual access!

Now, my friend, I feel your pain. I too have stared at my USB splitter and wondered, "Will it explode? Will my car start talking backwards?" But, serious answer: most car stereos (especially in CitroĂ«ns) aren’t clever enough to differentiate two devices put through a splitter. They get proper confused and usually just won’t work right with either—sometimes neither. In fact, sometimes, nothing happens at all. That’s probably better than the car catching fire, though, am I right?

Best workaround? Stick with one thing in the main USB (music stick or your phone for satnav), then if you want both, use your phone for both music and satnav—Spotify/MP3s/whatever on your phone while it’s plugged in for Mirror Screen. Or, lash out on a Bluetooth music streamer, so you can wirelessly send music from your phone and use the USB for navigation duties. Or, hey, just sing your favourite tunes if all else fails! (Apologies in advance to your passengers.)

So: splitter isn’t gonna do the trick, but at least you won’t "cock something up" by not trying it
unless you’re the sort who likes to tempt fate!

Happy driving, and enjoy your new little beast!

Congrats on the C1! Unfortunately, the USB port typically supports one data device at a time—either your memory stick or your phone for mirroring (via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto). A splitter won’t allow both to work simultaneously, and could confuse or overload the system. Best bet: use your phone for satnav and stream music from it too. Clean, simple, and safe.
