I’m thinking about buying a used 2018 Toyota Aygo and would love to hear your experiences. How’s the fuel economy? Any issues with the infotainment system or build quality? What about maintenance costs or common problems you’ve encountered?

Toyota cars are generally very reliable, but every vehicle should be individually inspected and diagnosed before purchase.

The 2018 Toyota Aygo is well-regarded for its excellent fuel economy, low running costs, and reliable build quality, making it a strong contender for a used city car.

    Fuel Economy:
    - Official combined fuel consumption figures are around 4.1 to 4.2 litres per 100 km (about 67–68 mpg UK), with urban consumption near 4.9 l/100 km and extra-urban around 3.8 l/100 km.
    - Real-world user reports tend to show slightly lower figures, averaging around 35–44 mpg, depending on driving style and conditions, but still very economical for its class.
    - The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine is efficient and well-suited for city and suburban driving.

    Infotainment System and Build Quality:
    - The Aygo’s infotainment is generally basic but functional. Some owners have noted it can feel a bit limited or dated compared to rivals, but serious issues or glitches are rare.
    - Build quality is solid for a city car, with a durable interior and good fit and finish. However, expect some hard plastics and a minimalist design typical of this segment.
    - The car is known for being very reliable, with few common faults reported.

    Maintenance Costs and Common Issues:
    - Maintenance is inexpensive, with low-cost parts and routine servicing. Toyota’s reputation for reliability means fewer unexpected repairs.
    - Insurance groups are low (usually between 5 and 7), helping keep running costs down.
    - Road tax and MOT costs are modest, contributing to overall affordability.
    - No widespread or serious common problems have been reported for this model year; just standard wear and tear items like brake pads, tires, and batteries.

The 2018 Toyota Aygo offers outstanding fuel efficiency, low running costs, and dependable reliability with a straightforward infotainment system and practical build quality. It’s an excellent choice if you want a fuss-free, economical city car with minimal maintenance concerns.
