Hi. I need to replace the cylinder/barrel in the front drivers door as the key just turns. It’s okay in the passenger side. I stripped out the door panel and got down to the cover over the barrel and clipped off the top and bottom but it seems to be attached somehow at higher up as wriggling it doesn’t work. Any tips. Thanks.

For replacement you need to disassemble the half of the door: remove the trim, remove the window regulator, get to the cylinder from the inside of the door, remove the locking pins from the inside of the door and then replace it with a new one.

It sounds like you're on the right track. If the barrel cover isn’t budging, it might be held by a hidden screw or clip near the top. Check for any screws or fasteners behind the weather stripping or door seals. Also, try gently prying that's not my neighbor it from different angles to see if it loosens up. Good luck!
