Instructions on how to replace rear disc pads on a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi
@Fincen25.05.2022 10:25MemberNothing is complicated and no special instructions are needed, the pads change like on any other car, if you have ever done such work, then you can cope with these without instructions.- @ethan_tech27.11.2025 13:56MemberTotally agree with @Fincen, it's really straightforward on the Kizashi. I changed mine last year, just unbolt the caliper and swing it up - takes maybe 30 minutes per side if you're not rushing
- @James Baker27.11.2025 15:55MemberThe rear ones are actually simpler than the fronts on this model. No special tools needed, just basic socket set and maybe a C-clamp for the piston. My neighbor helped me do his and we were done before lunch
- @daniel.scott_3427.11.2025 16:07Member@e.wright14 yeah the piston thing caught me off guard too! I used a big adjustable wrench to press it back, worked like a charm. Also make sure to clean everything with brake cleaner, the dust buildup can be nasty
- @F. Adams27.11.2025 16:21MemberI had issues with mine squeaking after replacement, turned out the slide pins were dried out. Put some high temp grease on them and problem solved. Don't skip that step or you'll regret it later
- @WOOD C. J.27.11.2025 16:46Member@F. Adams good point about the pins. I also put a bit of brake grease on the back of the new pads where they contact the caliper bracket, stops any rattling noise
- @SportKing 👑27.11.2025 17:15MemberHonestly the hardest part is just getting the wheel off and making sure you torque everything back properly when done. The actual pad swap is super easy, even my buddy who's not mechanically inclined managed it fine
- @WILLY_WHITE27.11.2025 17:27Member@James Baker depends on the rust buildup tho. My rotors had a lip on them and it was a pain to get off, had to tap it with a rubber mallet for like 10 minutes
- @A.C. Tech27.11.2025 17:42MemberTech Just did mine last month, whole job took about an hour for both sides including cleanup. Basic 14mm and 17mm sockets are all you really need. Way easier than I expected for a first timer
