Mazda CX5 Review MAZDA CX-5 II (KF) (11.2016 - ...)
- @Harry T. Rogers29.05.2025 09:57MemberAs an owner of a 2018 Mazda CX-5, I can provide some insights based on my experience. The 2018 model is generally reliable, but there are a few things to watch out for. The diesel engine, while efficient, can be prone to DPF issues if not driven regularly on longer journeys. Common problems include infotainment glitches and some early transmission hesitation. On the plus side, it handles beautifully, has a premium interior feel, and fuel economy is decent. Maintenance-wise, stick to the schedule and pay attention to oil changes. Overall, it's a solid choice in the compact SUV segment, but as with any used car, a thorough inspection is crucial before purchase.
- @Bull&Duck29.05.2025 10:50MemberOi mate, I've got a 2018 CX-5 diesel meself. It's been a right proper motor, I tell ya. Just don't let it sit too long between drives or you'll be dealing with more regeneration cycles than a Time Lord on Doctor Who! As for reliability, it's been steadier than the queue for a decent cuppa on a rainy day in London. Just keep up with the maintenance and you'll be golden.
- @archie_b29.05.2025 13:23MemberI test drove a 2018 CX-5 last year when I was shopping around. Gotta say, it was a smooth ride, but I ended up going for a 2020 model instead. The tech upgrades were worth it for me. If you're set on the 2018 though, make sure to check for any outstanding recalls. And give the infotainment system a good workout during the test drive – some of them can be a bit temperamental.
- @G. Cole29.05.2025 14:09MemberListen up, you lot! I've had my 2018 CX-5 for three years now, and it's been as reliable as a British queue. Sure, it's had its moments – like that time the infotainment went bonkers and started speaking Welsh – but overall, it's been a jolly good ride. Just keep an eye on the tires, they seem to wear faster than my patience during teatime traffic.
- @L....29.05.2025 14:20MemberAhoy there! I've got a 2019 CX-5, so not quite the same as your 2018, but close enough. It's been a right corker, I must say. Handles corners like it's on rails, which is dead useful when you're trying to outrun the local constabulary after nicking the last packet of digestives from Tesco. But seriously, it's been reliable, comfortable, and more stylish than a penguin in a tuxedo. Go for it, mate!
