Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control “A” Range error
TOYOTA AURIS (NRE15_, ZZE15_, ADE15_, ZRE15_, NDE15_)

I have a 1.4 Diesel Auris 2008 with check engine light on. The errors are P1228 and P0252 – Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control “A” Range.
The car runs fine and starts without issues and the mechanic said it might be the pump valve but he recommended changing the entire pump or just drive it like that. Not fixing it is not an option since is not passing the MOT. I have found the valve and thought about changing it but it’s difficult to find it on the market which makes me wonder if this is a bad idea. Have any of you had this issue? Thanks

Look for a replacement valve, as the pump itself is very expensive.

The errors you’re getting are P1228 and P0252. The first is a problem with your Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control “A” Range, while the second is a problem with your Injector Supply Voltage (ISV) Circuit Low. These can be caused by a faulty fuel pump, but they’re often caused by something as simple as a loose electrical connection. These errors can be caused by a few different things. The most common is a bad fuel pressure regulator or a worn-out or broken injection pump.

Hey everyone, dealing with the P1228 and P0252 errors on a Toyota Auris can be tricky. It seems like the issue might be with the fuel metering control or a loose electrical connection. Has anyone tried replacing just the valve instead of the entire pump? Your experiences could really help those facing similar issues.
