    My ignition key goes in and out of lock but will not turn
    How do I replace lock ?

    Reason 1: the ignition switch has worked
    In this situation, it is advisable to try to find the ideal steering position in which the column and ignition switch will be unlocked. To do this, insert the key into the ignition and try to turn the steering wheel in different directions while trying to start the engine. When the steering position required to start the engine is found, the key in the lock will turn and the starter will start working.
    Reason 2: Contamination of the ignition switch.
    The ideal solution to the problem is to disassemble and clean the ignition switch. However, in conditions where it is necessary to continue operating the machine immediately, without visiting the service centre, you can try to solve the problem using the WD-40 tool. Direct a spray can of WD-40 into the ignition switch and hold it there until the residual drops are clear.
    Reason 3: the key is damaged
    In such a situation, it is best to use a spare key, if available. If you do not have a spare key but you still need to start the engine, try to fix the problem. For a curved key, you can try straightening it yourself. It is not recommended to use a hammer for this (only rubber or wood). When the problem is related to key wear, it is enough to try to turn it in the ignition lock in different positions. Insert the key and move it in different directions, constantly trying to turn the mechanism. Over time, the key will fall into the “secret”, and the engine will be able to start.
    In some situations, the solution to the problem may be even more commonplace than everything described above. For example, if your car has an automatic transmission, the problem may be related to its position. In some vehicles, the key refuses to turn until the automatic transmission switch is in neutral or parked.
