Engine noise, please help BMW 1 Hatchback (F20) (11.2010 - 06.2019)

Can anybody help me understand what the issue is with the noise coming from the engine on my 1 series, please?


I csnt post a video here so I’ve uploaded to my google drive.


It’s a rattling noise which gets louder and quicker when i rev. Is it safe to drive?

      I think the problem is with the timing chain, it should be checked and replaced if necessary. I would not recommend running the car as it may lead to more expensive engine repairs.
