Considering a Used Kia Ceed? Share Your Reviews & Concerns KIA cee‘d II Hatchback (JD) (05.2012 - ...)
- @Jack.Taylor14.04.2025 15:30MemberI've had my 2017 Kia Ceed for about 2 years now and it's been a pretty reliable car overall. The fuel economy is decent, getting around 45-50 mpg on average. The infotainment system works well and is easy to use. Maintenance costs have been reasonable so far, with nothing major cropping up. My only real complaint is the road noise on the motorway can get a bit loud. But for the price, it's been a solid purchase. I'd recommend the Ceed if you're looking for a practical, affordable hatchback.
- @MW18.04.2025 12:38MemberHow's the performance and handling? I do a fair bit of city driving so I'm hoping it's reasonably nippy and responsive. Also, how's the build quality holding up after a few years of use? Anything I should look out for when inspecting a used model?
- @IsaWill24.04.2025 07:19MemberThe performance is pretty decent for a car in this class. It's got enough power to get up to speed comfortably and the handling is quite nimble, making it easy to navigate through city traffic. As for build quality, mine has held up really well so far. No major issues with rattles or creaks, and everything still feels well put together. When inspecting a used one, I'd recommend checking for any signs of accident damage, looking over the interior and exterior for any wear and tear, and making sure all the tech features are working as they should. Take it for a good test drive too to get a feel for how it performs.
- @James Wilson30.04.2025 07:51MemberI had a 2017 Kia Ceed as a company car a few years back and overall it was a decent little runabout. The fuel economy was solid, getting around 47mpg on average. And I found the interior to be quite well built and durable. The only real downside was the lack of poke from the 1.4 litre engine - it felt a bit underpowered at times, especially when fully loaded. But for just general commuting and errands around town, it was perfectly adequate. If you can find a good used deal on one, I'd say it's worth considering.
- @aVa.Daies...13.05.2025 13:55MemberI'm curious about the reliability of the Kia Ceed long-term. Have any of you had any major issues crop up after the first couple of years of ownership? I know Kia has a good reputation these days, but I'm always a bit wary of used cars, especially ones that are 4-5 years old. What has your experience been in terms of breakdowns, repairs, etc?
- @IsaWill13.05.2025 14:03MemberI haven't had any major reliability issues with my 2017 Kia Ceed so far. It's been pretty trouble-free to be honest. The only things I've had to get done are routine servicing and a couple minor fixes like replacing a bulb. Nothing that's cost me a fortune or left me stranded. From what I've read, the Ceed has a pretty good reputation for reliability, especially the newer models. As long as you get a used one that's been well-maintained, I wouldn't be too concerned. Just make sure to get a thorough inspection done before purchase.
- @l.johnson.2713.05.2025 14:32MemberI recently bought a used 2017 Kia Ceed and so far I'm really pleased with it. The fuel economy has been excellent, I'm averaging around 52mpg which is better than I expected. The infotainment system is easy to use and responsive too. My only minor gripe is that the ride can feel a bit on the firm side, especially over rougher roads. But overall it's a very practical, well-built hatchback that seems to offer good value for money. If you're in the market for a used Ceed, I'd say go for it!
