@user_115196 Hey mate! I had the same issue on mine last year. First, you'll need to remove the screws – check around the armrest area and near the door handle, they're usually Phillips head. Some might be hidden under small plastic covers, just pop those off carefully with a flat tool.

@user_115196 After the screws are out, you need to disconnect the window switch panel if you have electric windows. Just pry it gently and unplug the connector.

The tricky part is the clips around the edge. Start from the bottom corner and work your way up with a plastic trim tool – don't use metal or you'll scratch everything! There's usually about 6-8 clips holding it on.

@l.l.Brown Yeah exactly, I broke two clips being impatient lol. Go slow and you'll feel them pop

@user_115196 once the clips are free, lift the whole panel UP first before pulling it away. It hooks at the top edge of the door frame. Then you can access the lock mechanism from inside.

Mate I did this job couple months back, took me about 20 minutes first time. The lock actuator itself isn't expensive if that's what broke – around £20-100 depending on the part. Make sure you disconnect any cables attached to the handle before fully removing the panel

@CharlieDavies good point about the window switch, I forgot to unplug mine and nearly ripped the wires out 😅

@user_115196 take photos as you go so you remember where everything connects. Helped me loads when I put mine back together

Had a similar problem but on the passenger side. The door wouldn't open at all from inside or outside. Turned out the whole mechanism was twisted and loose. Replaced it myself after getting the panel off, saved a fortune

@johnson19 How long did the replacement take once you had the panel off?

@George White 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 About 30 mins, just had to unbolt the old mechanism and connect the new one to the rods. Fiddly but not complicated

@user_115196 Just be careful with those plastic clips when you're prying – they break easily if you're too rough. I'd get a proper trim removal tool set, makes life so much easier. Cost me like a fiver and saved me from damaging the panel

@M. Robinson haha I did the exact same thing! Nearly pulled the whole wiring harness through the door. Now I always double check everything's disconnected before yanking panels off
