Built in the period from 1961 to 1978 Toyota Copain is a compact car of the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota production that is also marketed and sold as Toyota Publica on some markets.

The Copain of Toyota was designed as a cost-effective family car which primarily aimed at the Asian countries’ requirements and it was the smallest passenger car model produced by Toyota. The last representative of the Copain model range was the Toyota 1000 that appeared on the market 1971 and was marketed as an introductory model of the compact cars segment in Germany. The Copian was available in Germany in two body versions, namely, as sedan and spacious station wagon.
