Varta vs Bosch – which is best?

I remember back in the day Varta batteries were always the better choice. Has this changed in recent years?

I bought a cheap battery around a year ago to replace the original one and after letting it run flat (oops!) it won’t hold a charge anymore. It’s touch and goes whether it’ll turn over at all. So this time I’m willing to spend a bit more on good quality. So Varta vs Bosch, what’s the consensus?

Varta and Bosch batteries are manufactured in the same factories.
Don't just look at the warranty period offered. You can often get better performance from a battery that has a 2-year warranty than some that come with 4 years.
If you look at the specs and choose based on the highest CCA and Ah rather than judging by the price you should get a good battery.

I did the same with a cheap battery – let it go flat once and it never came back. Think it’s time I stop messing around and just buy a proper one. Both Varta and Bosch are solid brands, definitely a big step up from the no-name stuff.

When it comes to bosch vs varta car batteries, I don’t think there’s a massive difference since they’re often made in the same factories. Just comes down to availability and price for me.

I use varta in my car now, before was bosch. Both are good, no problem. I think not big difference, maybe just brand. Important is made in Germany, not cheap one. Car starts every time, so I’m happy.
