Hi there

I have a problem with my boot lid, not working electrically when pressing the button I can hear a click but it’s not going up possibly the fuse has gone. Where do I check this fuse?

Hi, most likely there is a problem with the trunk lid shock absorber, they often fail. It is better to contact a service center so that they can check and accurately determine the cause of the malfunction

For your Bentley Continental Coupe (3S3), the electrical fuse related to the boot lid is likely located in one of the fuse boxes. There are two main fuse boxes on this model:

    1. Underneath the steering column inside the cabin. To access it, you typically pull down a panel below the steering wheel.
    2. Inside the trunk, on the driver’s side. There is a panel you can open to access the fuses there.

The fuse controlling the boot lid might be in the trunk fuse box, as that’s where many electrical components related to the boot are managed. You should check your owner’s manual for the exact fuse number and its function, or look for a diagram inside the fuse box panel which usually shows which fuse controls what.

If you hear a click when pressing the button but the boot does not open, it could also be caused by a failed motor or shock absorber mechanism that assists the lid in lifting, not just a fuse failure.

    To check the fuse:
    - Locate the fuse box in the trunk on the driver’s side.
    - Open the panel and use the fuse removal tool (sometimes included in the fuse box).
    - Identify the fuse for the boot lid and inspect if it is blown. A blown fuse will have a broken filament or appear blackened.
    - Replace it with a fuse of the same amperage if necessary.

If replacement of the fuse does not solve the issue, it might be advisable to have a service center check the boot lid shock absorber motor or related control modules, as those are known potential faults in this model.

This aligns with general information for Bentley Continental models around 2004–2012, which have fuse boxes both in the cabin and trunk, with boot lid-related fuses typically located in the trunk fuse box area.
