Replacement: tailgate struts – VAUXHALL VIVARO Box (F7). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Replace both rear door gas struts together.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right rear door gas struts.
- All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.
Replacement: tailgate struts – VAUXHALL VIVARO Box (F7). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the rear door.Step 2Prop up the rear door. Use a transmission jack.Step 3
Release the retaining clip connecting the right gas strut to the rear door. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 4
Release the retaining clip connecting the right gas strut to the vehicle body. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 5
Remove the right gas strut of the rear door. - Step 6
Clean the mounting seats of the right gas strut. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 7
Release the retaining clip connecting the left gas strut to the rear door. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 8
Release the retaining clip connecting the left gas strut to the vehicle body. Use a slotted screwdriver. - Step 9
Remove the left gas strut of the rear door. - Step 10
Clean the mounting seats of the left gas strut. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 11
Apply grease to the ball sockets of the new gas struts if they are not sold pregreased. Use multipurpose grease.
