AUTODOC recommends:
- Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your SKODA FELICIA I (6U1) car.
- The wheel hub bearing replacement procedure is identical for both wheels on the same axle.
- Please note: all work on the car – SKODA FELICIA I (6U1) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Engage the parking brake lever.
- Step 2Loosen the parking brake cable. Use a combination spanner #10.
- Step 3Secure the wheels with chocks.Step 4Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 5Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.Step 6Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SKODA FELICIA I (6U1)
- Step 7Remove the wheel.
- Step 8Clean the brake drum. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 9Remove the wheel hub nut cap. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 10Remove the cotter pin securing the hub nut. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
- Step 11Unscrew the hub nut. Use a drive socket #24. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Remove the brake drum assembled with the wheel hub bearing.Replacement: wheel bearing – SKODA FELICIA I (6U1). Tip:Examine the brake drum. Replace it if necessary.
- Step 13Clean the hub bearing mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 14Remove the hub bearing mounting. Use a crowbar.
- Step 15Remove the inner oil seal of the wheel bearing. Use a crowbar.
- Step 16Remove the hub bearing mounting. Use a crowbar.
- Step 17Clean the hub bearing mounting seat.
- Step 18Remove the inner race of the wheel bearing from the brake drum. Use 3-Arm Gear Puller. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 19Remove the inner race of the wheel bearing from the brake drum. Use a bush and bearing driver set.
- Step 20Install the new inner race of the wheel bearing into the brake drum. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
- Step 21Install the new inner race of the wheel bearing into the brake drum. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
- Step 22Treat the inner race and the wheel bearing. Use a multipurpose grease.
- Step 23Install a new hub bearing and secure it.
- Step 24Press in the inner oil seal of the wheel bearing. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
- Step 25Install a new hub bearing and secure it.
