Examine the shock absorber dust cap and the bump stop. Replace them if necessary. Before installing a new shock absorber you should pump it manually 3-5 times.
Step 16
Install the dust sleeve and the bump stop on the new shock absorber.
Step 17
Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 18
Treat the shock absorber mounting seats. Use copper grease.
Step 19
Place the shock absorber in the wheel arch and secure it.
AUTODOC recommends:
Nissan Leaf ZE0 – To avoid injury, hold the shock absorber while screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 20
Install the fastening bolt.
Step 21
Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #18.
Step 22
Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.
Step 23
Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a combination spanner #18. Use a drive socket #18. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 127 Nm torque.
Step 24
Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.
