Replacement: coil springs – OPEL VIVARO Box (F7). AUTODOC recommends:
- Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
- The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
- All the work should be carried out with the ignition switched off.
Replacement: coil springs – OPEL VIVARO Box (F7). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Raise the vehicle.Warning!If you are using a jack, make sure the car is parked on a hard, flat surface.Make sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.Step 2
Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray. - Step 3
Jack up the rear axle beam. Use a transmission jack or one more vehicle jack. - Step 4
Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber and remove the stop plate. Use a 21 mm combination spanner. Use a 21 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 5
Unscrew the upper fastener of the shock absorber. Use a 21 mm combination spanner. Use a 21 mm socket. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 6
Remove the fastening bolts. - Step 7
Remove the shock absorber. - Step 8
Carefully lower the transmission or vehicle jack to release tension from the spring.Replacement: coil springs – OPEL VIVARO Box (F7). AUTODOC recommends:Handling the suspension springs requires extreme care as they store a large amount of energy. Improper handling can cause the spring to release accidentally, leading to serious injury, death, or significant property damage.Lower the transmission or vehicle jack smoothly without jerking it to avoid damaging the vehicle assemblies and mechanisms. - Step 9
Remove the suspension spring. - Step 10
Clean the shock absorber mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray. - Step 11
Clean the spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use an all-purpose cleaning spray.
