How to change Pollen Filter on MERCEDES-BENZ M W163 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC
All the parts you need to replace – Pollen Filter for M-Class (W163) and other MERCEDES-BENZ models
Replacement: pollen filter – Mercedes ML W163. Tip:
Replace the cabin filter at least once every six months, in early spring and autumn seasons.
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
If the air flow into the cabin has sharply reduced, replace the filter before a scheduled maintenance.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: pollen filter – Mercedes ML W163. Recommended sequence of steps:
Step 1
Move the passenger seat fully backwards.
Step 2
Unscrew the lower trim part fastening. Use Torx T25.
Step 3
Remove the trim.
Step 4
Remove the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 5
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 6
Carefully clean the inside surface of the cabin filter housing and cover.
Replacement: pollen filter – Mercedes ML W163. Tip from AUTODOC:
Remove any debris from the cabin filter housing carefully to prevent contamination of the ventilation duct.Do not attempt to clean and reuse the filter - it will affect the quality of air cleaning inside the car.
Step 7.1
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing.
Step 7.2
Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: pollen filter – Mercedes ML W163. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.Take care to only use quality filters.Follow the air flow direction arrow on the filter.
Step 8
Close the cabin filter housing and tighten the fixing elements.
Step 9
Install and secure the trim under the instrument panel. Use Torx T25.
Step 10
Return the passenger seat to its initial position.
Step 11
Switch on the ignition.
Step 12
Switch on the air conditioning system. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 13
Switch off the ignition.
