Replace the cabin filter at least once every six months, in early spring and autumn seasons.
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
If the air flow into the cabin has sharply reduced, replace the filter before a scheduled maintenance.
In some cars, the heater unit is located on the passenger side.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Move the passenger seat fully backwards.
Step 2
Remove the floor mat from the passenger side.
Step 3
Unscrew the fasteners of the side trim panel on the passenger side. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 4
Pry up, carefully release from the fasteners and remove the side trim panel on the passenger side.
Step 5
Unscrew the fasteners of the lower sound insulation.
Step 6
Remove the lower sound insulation.
Step 7
Unscrew the fasteners of the cabin filter housing cover (2 pieces). Use a drive socket #8. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Remove the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 9
Remove the cabin filter.
Replacement: pollen filter – Abarth 595. Tip:
Do not attempt to clean and reuse the filter - it will affect the quality of air cleaning inside the car.
Step 10
Install a new cabin filter according to the mark.
Replacement: pollen filter – Abarth 595. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Follow the air flow direction arrow on the filter.Replacement: pollen filter – Abarth 595. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.
Step 11
Reinstall the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 12
Screw in the fasteners of the cabin filter housing cover (2 pieces). Use a drive socket #8. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Install the lower sound insulation.
Step 14
Screw in the fasteners of the lower sound insulation.
Step 15
Install the side trim panel. Position the part using the guides and lock the fasteners.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: pollen filter – Abarth 595. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the fasteners.
Step 16
Screw in the fasteners of the side trim panel. Use Torx T25. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 17
Return the floor mat to the original position.
Step 18
Return the passenger seat to its initial position.
Step 19
Switch on the ignition.
Step 20
Switch on the air conditioning system. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 21
Switch off the ignition.
