Replacement: ignition coil – VAUXHALL ASTRA Mk V (H) Estate. AUTODOC experts recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- Please note: all work on the car – VAUXHALL ASTRA Mk V (H) Estate – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: ignition coil – VAUXHALL ASTRA Mk V (H) Estate. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it. - Step 4
Detach the connector from the ignition coil. - Step 5
Unscrew the ignition coil bolts. Use Torx T40. Use a ratchet wrench. - Step 6Pry up the ignition coil. Use a crowbar.Step 7
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well. - Step 8
Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells. - Step 9
Install the new ignition coil to the spark plug well. - Step 10
Tighten the ignition coil bolts. Use Torx T40. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 7 nm torque.
