Replacement: ignition coil – SKODA FABIA (6Y2). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- The replacement procedure is the same for the ignition coils of all cylinders.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: ignition coil – SKODA FABIA (6Y2). Take the following steps:
- Step 1Open the hood.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3
Remove the engine cover. - Step 4
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system. - Step 5
Undo the plastic locking tabs of the ignition coil connector. Use a flat screwdriver. - Step 6
Pry up the ignition coil. Use a crowbar (2 pieces). - Step 7
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well.Replacement: ignition coil – SKODA FABIA (6Y2). Tip:Remember the sequence of steps for ignition coil demounting. - Step 8
Unplug the connectors from the ignition coils. - Step 9
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance. - Step 10
Plug in the connectors of the ignition coils.
