Replacement: fuel filter – SKODA OCTAVIA (1U2). Tip from AUTODOC experts:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- Warning! Shut down the engine before starting any work – SKODA OCTAVIA (1U2).
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the fuel door.
- Step 2Unscrew the fuel filler cap.
- Step 3Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 4Clean the fuel filter mounting bracket. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
- Step 5Prepare a container for fluids.
- Step 6Disconnect the parking brake cable.
- Step 7Loosen the fuel filter fasteners. Use a drive socket #7. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 8Clean the fasteners of the fuel supply lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 9Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter. Use fuel line pliers.Replacement: fuel filter – SKODA OCTAVIA (1U2). AUTODOC recommends:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
- Step 10Remove the fuel filter.
- Step 11Clean the fuel lines. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 12Install a new fuel filter.AUTODOC recommends:Make sure that the fuel filter is positioned correctly. Consider the fuel flow direction mark.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.
