Replacement: fuel filter – ALPINA D5 Touring (F11). Tip:
- Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace. Fuel vapors are poisonous.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: fuel filter – ALPINA D5 Touring (F11). Recommended sequence of steps:
- Step 1Open the fuel door.Step 2Unscrew the fuel filler cap.Step 3Lift the car using a jack or place it over an inspection pit.Step 4Unscrew fixing bolts of the protective cover. Use a drive socket #8. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 5Remove the protective cover.
- Step 6Prepare a container for fluids.
- Step 7Treat the fasteners attaching the tubes to the fuel filter. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
- Step 8Loosen the fuel filter clamps. Use a flat screwdriver.
- Step 9Remove the snap ring of the fuel pressure regulator retainer clip.
- Step 10Detach the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel filter. Use a crowbar.Replacement: fuel filter – ALPINA D5 Touring (F11). AUTODOC experts recommend:Be careful! Fuel may leak from the filter housing and hoses.
- Step 11Loosen the fuel filter mounting. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Disconnect the fuel supply lines from the fuel filter.
- Step 13Unscrew the fastener of the fuel filter bracket. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 14Remove the fuel filter. Put the old filter cartridge in the container.
- Step 15Install a new fuel filter.Replacement: fuel filter – ALPINA D5 Touring (F11). AUTODOC recommends:Remember, it is important not to mix up the input and output of the filter. Arrows on the filter indicate the direction of fuel flow.During installation, take care to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the fuel filter housing.Attention! Use quality filters – ALPINA D5 Touring (F11).Step 16Connect the fuel supply lines to the fuel filter.
- Step 17Tighten the fuel supply line fastening. Use a flat screwdriver.
