Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. Professionals recommend:

The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Step 2

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 4

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 5

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Skoda Fabia 6Y5
Step 6

Remove the wheel.
Step 7

Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
Step 8

Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. Tip from AUTODOC:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 9

Remove the fastener attaching the brake hose to the shock strut. Use a crowbar.
Step 10

Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.

Step 11

Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12

Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11.
Step 13

Remove the brake hose.
Step 14

Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 15 Nm torque.
Step 15

Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
Step 16

Clean the brake hose mounting seat on the brake circuit pipe. Clean the mounting seat of the brake hose on the brake caliper. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 17

Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
Step 18

Install the brake hose retaining clip. Use a rubber mallet.
Step 19

Undo the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #11.
Step 20

Connect the brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder screw.
Step 21

Press the brake pedal several times to remove any air from the system.
Step 22

Tighten the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #11.
Step 23

Disconnect the brake bleeder kit.
Step 24

Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt. Use a brake cleaner.

Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. AUTODOC recommends:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 25

Tighten the brake caliper bleed screw. Use a drive socket #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
Step 26

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a wire brush. Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 27

Install the wheel.

Replacement: brake hose – Skoda Fabia 6Y5. Professionals recommend:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 28

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 29

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 30

Remove the jacks and chocks.
Step 31

Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 32

Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap. Close the hood.
