- The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake hose – SEAT IBIZA V SPORTCOUPE (6J1, 6P1). Use the following procedure:
- Step 1Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.Step 2Secure the wheels with chocks.
- Step 3Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
- Step 4Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.Step 5Unscrew the wheel bolts.AUTODOC recommends:Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. SEAT IBIZA V SPORTCOUPE (6J1, 6P1)
- Step 6Remove the wheel.
- Step 7Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
- Step 8Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.Replacement: brake hose – SEAT IBIZA V SPORTCOUPE (6J1, 6P1). Tip from AUTODOC:After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 9Remove the fastener attaching the brake hose to the shock strut. Use a crowbar.
- Step 10Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.Step 11Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 12Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11.
- Step 13Remove the brake hose.
- Step 14Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 15 Nm torque.
- Step 15Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 30 Nm torque.
- Step 16Clean the brake hose mounting seat on the brake circuit pipe. Clean the mounting seat of the brake hose on the brake caliper. Use a brake cleaner.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: brake hose – SEAT IBIZA V SPORTCOUPE (6J1, 6P1). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
- Step 17Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
- Step 18Install the brake hose retaining clip. Use a rubber mallet.
- Step 19Undo the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #11.
