Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). AUTODOC experts recommend:
The replacement procedure is identical for the right and left brake hoses on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). Take the following steps:
Step 1
Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Step 2
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 3
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 4
Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 5
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). AUTODOC recommends:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
Step 6
Remove the wheel.
Step 7
Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a wire brush.
Step 8
Remove the fastener attaching the brake hose to the shock strut. Use a crowbar. Use a hammer.
Step 9
Detach the brake hose from the shock strut.
Step 10
Put a container for gathering brake fluid beneath.
Step 11
Unscrew the fastener connecting the brake hose to the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #10.
Step 12
Unscrew the brake hose from the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Install the sealing ring on the new brake hose.
Step 14
Clean dirt from the brake hose bolt. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 15
Tighten the fastener connecting the brake pipe to the brake caliper. Use a drive socket #11. Use a ratchet wrench. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 35 Nm torque.
Step 16
Clean the brake hose mounting seat on the brake circuit pipe. Use a brake cleaner.
Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). Tip:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 17
Screw the brake hose onto the brake circuit pipe. Use a combination spanner #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 16 Nm torque.
Step 18
Clean the area where the brake hose is connected to the brake caliper and to the brake circuit pipe. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake hose – OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 19
Fasten the brake hose on the strut.
Step 20
Install the brake hose retaining clip. Use a rubber mallet.
Step 21
Connect the brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder screw.
Step 22
Undo the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #9.
Step 23
Press the brake pedal several times to remove any air from the system.
Step 24
Tighten the brake bleeder screw. Use a combination spanner #9.
Step 25
Disconnect the brake bleeder kit.
Step 26
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a wire brush. Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 27
Install the wheel.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. OPEL ASTRA G Convertible (F67)
Step 28
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
Step 29
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 110 Nm torque.
Step 30
Remove the jacks and chocks.
Step 31
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 32
Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap. Close the hood.
