Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.

Remove the brake disc.
Step 12
Remove the fastening bolt. Use HEX No.H14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Prop up the steering knuckle. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 14
Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 15
Unscrew the upper arm fastenings. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 16
Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 17
Remove the control arms. Use a crowbar.
Step 18
Detach the driveshaft from the steering knuckle.
Replacement: cv boot – SKODA SUPERB (3U4). Tip from AUTODOC:
Make sure that the drive shaft is not unloaded (when the car is jacked).

Clean the clamps of the CV joint boot. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 20
Detach the clamps of the CV joint boot. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 21
Install and tighten the drive shaft bolt. Use HEX No.H14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 22
Remove the CV joint together with its boot.
Step 23
Remove the fastening bolt. Use HEX No.H14. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 24
Clean the CV joint mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 25
Remove the CV joint circlip. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 26
Install the CV joint together with the boot in a vice.
Step 27
Detach the CV joint boot.
Step 28
Remove the CV joint bearing. Use a crowbar.
Step 29
Clean the CV joint mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 30
Remove the CV joint circlip.
Step 31
Clean the CV joint mounting seat. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.

Install the CV joint bearing.
Step 33
Loosen the vice and remove the CV joint.
Step 34
Pack the CV joint with the grease supplied in the kit.

Move the inner race of the CV joint from side to side to bed it in.

Install the CV joint boot on the CV axle. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 37
Install the CV joint circlip.
Step 38
Install the CV joint. Use a bush and bearing driver set. Use a hammer.
Step 39
Move the inner race of the CV joint from side to side to bed it in.
Step 40
Clean the splines of the drive shaft CV joint. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 41
Install the boot on the CV joint.
Step 42
Attach the clamps of the CV joint boot. Use a flat screwdriver. Use clic-R collar pliers. Use a hammer.
Step 43
Install the drive shaft.

Install the control arms.
Step 45
Install the fastening bolt.
Step 46
Tighten the upper arm fastenings. Use a combination spanner #16. Use a drive socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 40 Nm torque.
Step 47
Install and tighten the drive shaft bolt. Use HEX No.H14.
Step 48
Clean the hub. Use a wire brush. Treat the contacting surface. Use copper grease.
Step 49
Remove the support from under the steering knuckle.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: cv boot – SKODA SUPERB (3U4). Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.

Install the brake disc.
Step 51
Install the brake caliper together with its bracket.
Step 52
Tighten the brake caliper bracket. Use a drive socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 125 Nm torque.
Step 53
Treat all joints of the arm. Treat the steering knuckle fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 54
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 55
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: cv boot – SKODA SUPERB (3U4). After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.

Install the wheel.

Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. SKODA SUPERB (3U4)

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.

Lower the car.
Step 59
Tighten the bolt connecting the drive shaft to the wheel hub. Use HEX No.H14. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 115 Nm torque.+180°

Important! Be sure to use new fasteners.
Step 60
Tighten the wheel bolts using a criss-cross pattern. Use wheel impact socket #17. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 Nm torque.
Step 61
Remove the jacks and chocks.
