How to change pollen filter on BMW 3 (E46) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

Replacement: pollen filter – BMW E46 convertible. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Replace the cabin filter at least once every six months, in early spring and autumn seasons.
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
If the air flow into the cabin has sharply reduced, replace the filter before a scheduled maintenance.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: pollen filter – BMW E46 convertible. Use the following procedure:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Unscrew the fasteners of the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 4.1
Raise a little the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 4.2
Remove the cabin filter.
Replacement: pollen filter – BMW E46 convertible. AUTODOC experts recommend:
To avoid damaging the cabin filter cover, do not remove it before removing the filtering element.
Step 5
Remove the rubber strip.
Step 6
Remove the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 7
Disconnect the wiring harness from the cabin filter housing.
Step 8
Unscrew the filter housing fastening bolts. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Remove the cabin air filter housing.
Step 10
Clean the cabin filter housing and cover.
Replacement: pollen filter – BMW E46 convertible. Tip from AUTODOC:
Remove any debris from the cabin filter housing carefully to prevent contamination of the ventilation duct.Do not attempt to clean and reuse the filter - it will affect the quality of air cleaning inside the car.
Step 11
Install the cabin air filter housing.
Step 12
Screw the filter housing fastening bolts. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 13
Connect the wiring harness to the cabin filter housing.
Step 14
Install the rubber strip.
Step 15
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.

Follow the air flow direction arrow on the filter.Replacement: pollen filter – BMW E46 convertible. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.Take care to only use quality filters.
Step 16
Reinstall the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 17
Screw in the fasteners of the cabin filter housing cover.
Step 18
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 19
Close the hood.
