How to change air filter on SEAT IBIZA 3 6L [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
All the parts you need to replace – Air Filter for Ibiza III Hatchback (6L) and other SEAT models
Replacement: air filter – Seat Ibiza 6L1. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
Please note: all work on the car – Seat Ibiza 6L1 – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
On the right side, detach the PCV valve hose from the engine cover.
Step 4
Remove the engine cover The air filter housing is integrated into the engine cover.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – Seat Ibiza 6L1. To avoid damaging the part when removing it, do not use excessive force.
Step 5
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 6
Undo the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 7
Take off the filter lid.
Step 8
Remove the filter element from the filter housing.
Step 9
Clean the air filter cover and housing.
Replacement: air filter – Seat Ibiza 6L1. Tip:
Before cleaning the air filter cover and housing, cover the air duct parts, mass airflow sensor (if available), throttle valve with a clean cloth.
Step 10
Insert a new filter element into the filter housing. Make sure that the filter edge fits tight to the housing.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: air filter – Seat Ibiza 6L1. Be sure to position the filtering element correctly. Avoid misalignment.Take care to only use quality filters.During installation, make sure to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the air filter housing.
Step 11
Reinstall the air filter cover. Fasten it.
Step 12
Screw in the fastening screws of the air filter cover. Use a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 13
Remove the microfibre towel from the throttle body.
Step 14
Install the engine cover and secure it. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Replacement: air filter – Seat Ibiza 6L1. AUTODOC recommends:
Do not apply excessive force when installing the part. Otherwise you may damage the fasteners.Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners and the throttle body air intake hose.
Step 15
On the right side, attach the PCV valve hose to the engine cover.
Step 16
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 17
Close the hood.
