Replacement: air filter – MERCEDES-BENZ SL (R230). AUTODOC experts recommend:
- Follow the terms, recommendations and requirements of the part operation provided by the manufacturer.
- Please note: all work on the car – MERCEDES-BENZ SL (R230) – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
- Step 1Open the bonnet.Step 2Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.Step 3Remove the engine cover.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – MERCEDES-BENZ SL (R230). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 4Remove the air intake hoses.
- Step 5Clean the air filter cover and housing.
- Step 6Remove the air filter housing.AUTODOC recommends:Replacement: air filter – MERCEDES-BENZ SL (R230). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
- Step 7Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
- Step 8Clean the air filter cover and housing.
- Step 9Unscrew the fasteners of the air filter covers. Use Torx T20. Use a ratchet wrench.
- Step 10Remove the air filter covers along with filter elements.
- Step 11Remove the old filter elements.
- Step 12Clean the air filter cover and housing.
