My car is HONDA Civic VIII Hatchback. How do I know it’s time to replace the springs? At what mileage or time interval should they be changed? Are there any signs of the springs wear-out the driver can notice during visual inspection? I want to replace them before I get any suspension troubles.

First of all, you should check the spring for cracks. If you find any, the spring should be replaced. If there are no visible damage, pay attention to the coils. Any signs of contact on them indicate the metal fatigue. This causes the spring to lose its elasticity and performance. The spring sags, thus reducing the ground clearance.
