Lubricating brake calipers on Colt VI

@Pureet Jun 16, 2020MemberThe front brake system of my MITSUBISHI Colt VI is ATE. Do I have to grease the caliper guide pins? If so, what paste/lubricant is appropriate for the ATE?

The design of ATE brake caliper guide pins does not have guide pin boots. Therefore, these components must not be lubricated. Even a small amount of lubrication will cause the guide pins to slip. As a result, the caliper won’t return to its initial position. In addition, dust and sand will stick to the grease, thus causing accelerated wear of the guide pins.
