Your situation with the Mercedes E350 W213 ignition switch control module damaged by water is a tricky one. When replacing with a used module and trying to program it using AUTEL MAXIIM IM608, the inability to program usually comes down to needing a specialized procedure beyond just the usual key programming.

The ignition switch control module (EIS) is tightly integrated with your vehicle's security and ECU systems. It requires cloning or virginizing the module, which means reading data from the original module and transferring it to the used one, plus syncing keys and the vehicle’s immobilizer data.

The Autel IM608 is a strong tool, but for Mercedes EIS modules, sometimes additional hardware or software, like CGDI MB, Xhorse VVDI MB Tool, or dedicated hex programmers, are needed to:

    - Read and save the original EIS data.
    - Virginize (reset) the used EIS to accept new programming.
    - Write the vehicle’s security data and keys to the new module.

A popular method involves bench programming the EIS with power supply and specific connectors, following wiring diagrams carefully.

There are detailed video guides showing cloning and reprogramming EIS modules step-by-step. Searching "Mercedes EIS cloning W213" or "Mercedes EIS programming with Autel IM608" will help.

If you don’t have access to these advanced tools or aren’t confident with bench programming, many turn to specialized Mercedes key/EIS programming services that can clone and program your used module professionally.

So, in short: your IM608 might not support the full cloning process needed here — you’ll likely need dedicated Mercedes EIS programmer tools or professional service for this complex task.
