Gear problem

@user_2326639 Mar 12, 2024MemberHI, new to this forum and hoping to get an answer to my problem.I have a C220 14 plate and a few times when I’ve changed gear from P to D or R there’s a loud banging noise with the car jerking. When I turn off ignition and restart everything is ok.But today today when I put it into R then D, I drove off and the car didn’t change gear at all (like limp mode) When I was about 1½ miles down the road I parked up and engine off. Then restarted and it was fine…no banging on gear change and drove fine with gears changing as they should.I must add that no warning light came up on the dash.Can anybody diagnose the problem. Thx in advance 🙏
