SCAN ME
Porsche PIWIS III provides access to a range of hidden features in the Porsche Macan that can be activated if they are installed at the factory. The PIWIS system allows you to see which functions are available but not currently active.
Here’s a brief overview of some optional functions you can manage:
– Navigation
– Logbook
– Voice Control
– Sport Chrono
– Satellite Radio
– USB
– Bluetooth
– Maps for various regions (Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Middle East, Russia, China, etc.)
– PCC (Porsche Communication Center)
– Phone
Activation Process
To enable or disable these functions, you enter a 16-digit hexadecimal code into the PIWIS system. This code is sent to the PCM-ECU via a single UDS-CAN message and is derived from the vehicle’s VIN and the specific feature being activated. Many of these codes are available for purchase online, indicating that the activation algorithm has been reverse-engineered.
Example: Adjusting Air Suspension on a Porsche Macan
To adjust the air suspension on a Porsche Macan using PIWIS III, a dealer or repair shop would access the Air Suspension Control Module and modify the suspension settings. For instance, to lower the car by 20 millimeters, they would add this value to the current factory settings. Note that this process differs from other models like the Cayenne or Panamera.
Example Calculation (Arbitrary Values):
– Front left: Original encoding 414 + 20 = 434
– Front right: Original encoding 416 + 20 = 436
– Left rear: Original encoding 418 + 20 = 438
– Right rear: Original encoding 414 + 20 = 434
These numbers are for illustrative purposes only and should not be used directly on your vehicle. The actual factory settings vary and are based on several parameters.
Important Considerations:
– Adjusting the suspension may affect your warranty or the lifespan of the air suspension system. Proceed with caution and be aware of potential risks.
– Lowering the front by 10mm more than the rear might improve the vehicle’s stance, but a 20mm adjustment may be barely noticeable.
Additional Information:
1. PIWIS III and PIWIS II can both be used to activate or deactivate various factory features in the Macan. However, altering functionality related to button responses or valve control often requires more complex modifications, which are not straightforward with newer Porsche Siemens SDI systems.
2. PIWIS III has replaced PIWIS II and offers compatibility with newer Porsche models such as the Panamera (971) 2018, Cayenne (92A) 2018, Macan (95B) 2018, and 911 (991) 2018. It also includes advanced features not available in the older PIWIS II.
