GATES Thermostat reviews

Autodoc offered this Gates thermostat as an alternative to the MAHLE one which I had ordered but turned out not to be in stock. Unfortunately my engine is now constantly running at 100°C and over since I have mounted this thermostat, even on a cold rainy day. With the original BMW thermostat it was nicely around 95°C as it should be. I had a cracked thermostat housing and thought to meanwhile also change the thermostat... Now I will have to mount the old thermostat back or buy another one, along with another set of seals...

I had some bad experiences with this thermostat. Complete failure in 4 months. doesn't open at all anymore and over heated my Mercedes. maybe it was just my specific one, but I would still try another brand..

Mercedes Benz don't stock these parts anymore due to the age of the car, appears to be as good as quality as OEM part. Engine on the E320 CDI now runs at the correct temperature again.

Works perfectly fine for now. A joint is also provided, but there aren't any bolts or temperature sensor with it.

It's a quality brand which I've used before and lasts up to 4 years so would recommend this brand.

on 27*C engine runs between 87 and 92 degrees. stays at 92 on motorway
