Replacement: brake discs – CITROËN C4 CACTUS. Tools you need:

                      Wire brush
                    
                      Nylon cleaning brush
                    
                      WD-40 spray
                    
                      Brake cleaner 
                    
                      All-purpose cleaning spray
                    
                      Ceramic grease
                    
                      Torque wrench
                    
                      Combination spanner #13
                    
                      Combination spanner #15
                    
                      Drive socket # 19
                    
                      Torx bit T30
                    
                      Wheel impact socket #19
                    
                      Ratchet wrench
                    
                      Brake caliper wind back tool
                    
                      Crow bar
                    
                      Wheel chock

AUTODOC recommends:

Replace the brake disks on the car CITROËN C4 CACTUS in complete set for each axis. Regardless of the state of components. This will ensure even braking.
The replacement procedure is identical for both brake disks on the same axle.
When changing the brake discs, always replace the brake pads.
Please note: all work on the car – CITROËN C4 CACTUS – should be done with the engine switched off.

Carry out replacement in the following order:

Step 1

Open the bonnet. Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Step 2

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Step 3

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 4

Raise the car.

Replacement: brake discs – CITROËN C4 CACTUS. AUTODOC recommends:
If you are using a jack, make sure it rests on a flat surface without any unevenness.Be sure to additionally secure the car with jack stands.
Step 5

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. CITROËN C4 CACTUS
Step 6

Remove the wheel.
Step 7

Clean the brake caliper fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8

Spread the brake pads. Use a crowbar.
Step 9

Unscrew the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a combination spanner #15.
Step 10

Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 11

Remove the brake caliper.

AUTODOC recommends:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Make sure that the brake caliper is not hanging on the brake hose.Don't press the brake pedal after the brake caliper has been removed. As a result, the piston can fall out from the brake cylinder, and brake fluid leakage and depressurization of the system may occur.
Step 12

Remove the brake pads.
Step 13

Clean the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 14

Unscrew the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #19. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 15

Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 16

Remove the caliper bracket.
Step 17

Clean the brake disc fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 18

Unscrew the brake disc fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 19

Remove the fastening bolts.
Step 20

Remove the brake disc.
Step 21

Clean the hub. Use a wire brush. Use all-purpose cleaning spray.
Step 22

Treat the contacting surface. Use ceramic grease.
Step 23

Install the brake disc.
Step 24

Install the fastening bolts.
Step 25

Tighten the brake disc fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 10 Nm torque.
Step 26

Clean the brake caliper bracket from dirt and dust. Use a wire brush. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake discs – CITROËN C4 CACTUS. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Check the brake caliper bracket, brake caliper guide pins and boots. Clean them. Replace, if necessary.
Step 27

Install the brake caliper bracket.
Step 28

Install the fastening bolts.
Step 29

Tighten the brake caliper bracket fasteners. Use a drive socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 105 nm torque.
Step 30

Treat the brake caliper piston. Use a nylon cleaning brush. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 31

Press in the brake caliper piston. Use brake caliper wind back tool.
Step 32

Install the brake pads.
Step 33

Install the brake caliper and fix it.
Step 34

Install the fastening bolts.
Step 35

Tighten the brake caliper fasteners. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a combination spanner #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 27 nm torque.
Step 36

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use ceramic grease.
Step 37

Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: brake discs – CITROËN C4 CACTUS. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 38

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts on the car. CITROËN C4 CACTUS
Step 39

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 40

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 90 Nm torque.
Step 41

Remove the jacks and chocks.

Replacement: brake discs – CITROËN C4 CACTUS. Tip:
Without starting the engine, press the brake pedal several times until you feel significant resistance.Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.
Step 42

Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap. Close the hood.
