Thinking about buying a used 2018 Jaguar XE… I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! How’s the reliability, especially with the diesel engine? Any common issues with the infotainment system or suspension? Share your insights!

Jaguar XE 2018 (diesel 2.0 Ingenium):
    Pros:
    – Excellent handling, stylish design.
    – Diesel 2.0 (163/180 hp) – economical, but requires high-quality maintenance.
    Cons (common problems):
    Engine:
    – Oil starvation (check the level, leaks are possible).
    – Problems with EGR / diesel particulate filter (if used in the city).
    Suspension:
    – Knocking of front levers (service life ~80-100 thousand km).
    – Wear of silent blocks of the rear beam.
    Electronics:
    – Touch Pro (infotainment) – sometimes freezes, glitches with Bluetooth are possible.
    – Parking sensors – false alarms.
Buy only with a full service history, check the engine for errors and oil leaks.

If you're considering a used 2018 Jaguar XE, here's what you need to know: The XE offers excellent handling and stylish design, but has mixed reliability ratings. The diesel engine (2.0 Ingenium) is economical but requires diligent maintenance. Common issues include oil starvation, EGR/DPF problems in city driving, front suspension knocking around 80-100k km, and rear beam silent block wear. The Touch Pro infotainment system can freeze or have Bluetooth glitches. Parking sensors may give false alarms. Overall reliability is above average (4/5 stars from RepairPal), ranking 6th among luxury compact cars. However, it scored 88.1% in a recent reliability survey, placing 12th out of 24 executive cars. Always check for full service history, engine errors, and oil leaks before purchasing.

I've had my 2018 XE diesel for about 18 months now, and I've got to say, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. The handling is absolutely brilliant – feels like it's on rails around corners! But that infotainment system... crikey, it's more temperamental than British weather. One day it's working fine, the next it's throwing a wobbly. Still, when it works, it's quite nice. No major issues with the engine so far, touch wood!

Mate, I test drove a 2019 Jaguar XE last year, and I gotta say, it was proper posh. Felt like I was in a James Bond film! But then I remembered I'm more of a Mr. Bean kind of bloke, so I stuck with my trusty Ford. Still, if you've got the cash and fancy feeling like royalty on your commute, go for it! Just make sure you've got a good mechanic on speed dial, yeah?

As a Jaguar XE owner since 2017, I can attest to its charm and quirks. The 2017 Jaguar XE review I read before buying was spot on about the handling – it's superb. However, they didn't mention how often I'd be on first-name terms with my local Jag dealer! Pro tip: if you're looking at a 2020 Jaguar XE review or newer, they've ironed out some of the earlier kinks. Still a gorgeous car, though!

I've been eyeing the XE for a while now, and I've read every Jaguar XE review from 2015 to 2024! The 2023 Jaguar XE review looks promising, but I'm still hesitant. Anyone here upgraded from an older model to a newer one? I'd love to hear if the reliability has improved over the years. Also, has anyone checked out the Jaguar XE review on Parkers? They seem to rate it quite highly!
