Recommended replacement interval for the part category Brake Pads : 30000km
AUTODOC recommends
Perform the replacement of brake pads in complete set for each axis. This provides effective braking.
Observe the safety procedures! when brake pads work, brake dust is formed. Therefore, do not use compressed air and do not inhale dust when cleaning the brake pads.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Fully lower the parking brake lever.
Step 2
Place wedge blocks under the front wheels.
Step 3
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts.
Step 4
Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.
Step 5
Remove the rear wheels.
Step 6.1
Unscrew the brake caliper fastening
Step 6.2
Step 7
Remove the brake caliper.
AutoDoc recommends:
Tie the caliper to the suspension or to the body with a wire without disconnecting from the brake hose to prevent depressurization of the brake system.Do not press the brake pedal after removing the brake pads. This will lead to the piston drop out of the brake cylinder, brake fluid leakage and the system depressurization.

Remove the brake pads.

Measure the brake disc thickness. Upon reaching the wear limit the part must be replaced.

Install new brake pads

With the help of a special tool push in the brake caliper piston to a stop.
Step 11
Clean the brake caliper bracket from dirt and dust.

Install the brake caliper and fix it.

Install the wheel.
Step 14
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts.
AutoDoc recommends:
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and refill if necessary.With the Citroen C3 engine off, pump the brake pedal several times until you feel considerable resistanceSlow down smoothly for first 150-200 km after the brake pads replacement. Avoid unneccessary and sharp braking to a stop.
