How to change front anti roll bar link on TOYOTA YARIS XP10 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC
All the parts you need to replace – Anti Roll Bar Links for Yaris Hatchback (_P1_) and other TOYOTA models
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. AUTODOC recommends:
Replace the stabiliser links on Toyota Yaris P1 in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links on the same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. Use the following procedure:
Step 1
Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 3
Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
Step 4
Unscrew the wheel bolts.
AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. Toyota Yaris P1
Step 5
Remove the wheel.
Step 6
Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 7
Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the stabiliser link to the stabiliser bar. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 9
Clean the fastener connecting the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 10
Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle. Use a combination spanner #19.
Step 11
Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint puller.
Step 12
Remove the stabilizer rod.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. AUTODOC experts recommend:
Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.
Step 13
Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 14
Install a new rod, tighten the fasteners.
Step 15
Support the arm. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 16
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
Step 17.1
Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm.
Step 17.2
Use a combination spanner #13. Use a drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 Nm torque.
Step 18
Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.
Step 19
Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Step 20
Remove the support from under the arm.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 21
Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.
Step 22
Clean the brake disk surface. Use a brake cleaner.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. Professionals recommend:
After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.
Step 23
Install the wheel.
Replacement: anti roll bar links – Toyota Yaris P1. Tip from AUTODOC:
To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fastening bolts.
Step 24
Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21.
Step 25
Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #21. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 103 Nm torque.
Step 26
Remove the jacks and chocks.
