How to change front suspension arm / front control arm on VW CADDY 3 (2KB) [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]

All the parts you need to replace – Control Arm for Caddy III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ) and other VW models
Tools
Replacement: front lower arm – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. Tools you'll need:
Wire brush
WD-40 spray
Drive socket # 16
Drive socket # 18
Combination spanner #18
Copper grease
Torque wrench
Wheel impact socket #17
Ball joint puller
Crow bar
Hydraulic transmission jack
Wheel chock
Replacement: front lower arm – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. AUTODOC recommends:
  • The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right lower control arms.
  • Replacement of the independent suspension lower arm in some cars requires a part of the outlet piping of the additional heater to be removed.
  • Please note: all work on the car – VW Caddy 3 Kombi – should be done with the engine switched off.
Carry out replacement in the following order:

    Secure the wheels with chocks.

    Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #17.
  3. Step 3
    VW Caddy 3 1.6 TDI 2006 Control Arm replacement: free workshop manuals
    Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
  4. Step 4
    Changing Control Arm on VW Caddy III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ) 1.6 2007 by yourself
    Unscrew the wheel bolts.
    Replacement: front lower arm – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. Tip:
    To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.
  5. Step 5
    How to remove VW CADDY 2.0 TDI 16V 2008 Control Arm - online easy-to-follow instructions
    Remove the wheel.
  6. Step 6
    Remove the lower sound insulation.
    Please note!
    Some cars are not equipped with the lower sound insulation.

    Clean all joints of the arm. Use a wire brush. Treat all joints of the arm. Use WD-40 spray.

    Replacement: front lower arm – VW Caddy 3 Kombi. After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.Wear protective goggles.

    Unscrew the ball joint fastening nut. Use a combination spanner #18.

    Loosen the fastening nut, remove the arm from the steering knuckle using a ball joint puller. If necessary, use a crowbar.
  9. Step 10

    Unscrew the front arm fastener. Use a drive socket No.18 or ring spanner No.18.
  10. Step 11

    Unscrew the rear arm fastener. Use a drive socket #16, #18.
  11. Step 12
    Replacing Control Arm on VW Caddy 3 2014 1.9 TDI by yourself
    Remove the arm. Use a crowbar.
  12. Step 13
    Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
    Step 14
    Caddy III Estate (2KB, 2KJ, 2CB, 2CJ) 2.0 TDI 16V 2015 Control Arm DIY replacement workshop manual
    Install a new arm. Insert the ball joint into the steering knuckle and fix it with a new nut.
    AUTODOC recommends:
    Do not damage the ball joint cover.
  13. Step 15

    Install the front fastener of the arm. Do not tighten it.

    The tutorial does not cover the same type of suspension arm that the guy is holding up, that is the type I have and there doesn't seem to be a tutorial for that type of arm.
