All the parts you need to replace – Spark Plug for S-Class Saloon (W220) and other MERCEDES-BENZ models
Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
Step 18
Install the ignition coils to the spark plug wells.
Tighten the ignition coil fasteners. Use Torx T30. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 18 nm torque.
Step 21
Treat the ignition coil connector with electronic spray. The spray will protect the electrical contacts from corrosion, oxidation, and will reduce the contact resistance.
Step 22
Plug in the connectors of the ignition coils. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Step 23
Remove the microfibre towel from the throttle body.
Step 24
Install the air filter housing.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: spark plugs – MERCEDES-BENZ S-CLASS (W220) V6. Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.
Step 25
Install the engine cover and secure it.
AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners and the throttle body air intake hose.Replacement: spark plugs – MERCEDES-BENZ S-CLASS (W220) V6. To avoid damaging the part during installation, do not use excessive force.
Step 26
Reinstall the air intake hoses.
Step 27
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 28
Shut off the engine.
Step 29
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 30
Close the hood.
