All the parts you need to replace – Spark Plug for Panda Hatchback (141_) and other FIAT models
Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT PANDA (141A_). Tip from AUTODOC:
The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT PANDA (141A_). Take the following steps:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Unscrew the filter housing fastening bolts. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 4
Remove the air filter housing retaining spring.
Step 5
Remove the air filter housing.
Step 6
Cover the throttle body with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting into the system.
Step 7
Detach the crankcase ventilation hose from the engine cover at the left. Use a crowbar.
Step 8
Detach the throttle valve connectors. Use a crowbar.
Step 9
Remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells.
Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT PANDA (141A_). AUTODOC recommends:
Be careful to avoid damaging spark plug wires.Remember the sequence of the spark plug wires connectors.
Step 10
Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug wells.
Step 11
Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 12
Take out the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 13
Apply a thin layer of a special high temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
Step 14
Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats. Use the spark plug socket #16.
Step 15
Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 27 nm torque.
Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT PANDA (141A_). Professionals recommend:
Don't tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
Step 16
Treat the spark plug wire connectors.
Use high-temperature grease. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 17
Install the spark plug wire connectors into the spark plug wells. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: spark plugs – FIAT PANDA (141A_). Follow the installation steps.
Step 18
Attach the throttle valve connectors.
Step 19
Attach the crankcase ventilation hose to the engine cover at the left.
Step 20
Remove the microfibre towel from the throttle body.
Step 21
Reinstall the air filter housing.
AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure the air filter body is properly seated.
It should not be displaced with respect to the air intake hose of the throttle body and the guiding fasteners.
Step 22
Screw the filter housing fastening bolts. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 23
Install the air filter housing retaining spring.
Step 24
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 25
Shut off the engine.
Step 26
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 27
Close the hood.
