Replacement: serpentine belt – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C209). AUTODOC experts recommend:
All work should be done with the engine stopped.
Carry out replacement in the following order:
Step 1
Open the bonnet.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Remove the engine cover.
AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: serpentine belt – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C209). Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it.
Step 4
Remove the air intake hoses.
Step 5
Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #16.
Step 6
Remove the V-ribbed belt.
Replacement: serpentine belt – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C209). AUTODOC recommends:
Check the condition of the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Replace them if necessary.
Step 7
Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position.
Step 8
Install the V-ribbed belt.
Replacement: serpentine belt – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C209). Tip from AUTODOC:
Make sure that the V-ribbed belt fits all pulleys snugly.
Step 9
Pull aside the V-ribbed belt tensioner pulley. Use a combination spanner #16.
Step 10
Place the V-ribbed belt on the tensioner pulley.
Step 11
Return the tensioner pulley to its initial position. Use a combination spanner #16.
Step 12
Reinstall the air intake hoses.
Step 13
Install the engine cover and secure it.
AUTODOC recommends:
Make sure the engine cover is properly seated. It should not be displaced with respect to the guiding fasteners and the throttle body air intake hose.Replacement: serpentine belt – MERCEDES-BENZ CLK (C209). Do not use excessive force during installation. This may damage the part.
Step 14
Remove the fender protection cover.
Step 15
Close the hood.
