                        Wire brush
                      
                        WD-40 spray
                      
                        Brake cleaner 
                      
                        Copper grease 
                      
                        Drive socket # 15 
                      
                        Wheel impact socket #19
                      
                        Ratchet wrench
                      
                        Torque wrench
                      
                        Tap wrench
                      
                        Hydraulic transmission jack
                      
                        Wheel chock

Replacement: coil springs – FORD FIESTA V Van. AUTODOC experts recommend:

Both coil springs of the rear suspension should be replaced simultaneously.
The replacement procedure is identical for the left and right coil springs of the rear suspension.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Replacement: coil springs – FORD FIESTA V Van. Use the following procedure:

Step 1

Secure the wheels with chocks.
Step 2

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 3

Raise the rear of the car and secure on supports.

Step 4

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

AUTODOC recommends:
Warning! To avoid injury, hold the wheel while unscrewing the fastening bolts. FORD FIESTA V Van
Step 5

Remove the wheel.
Step 6

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 7

Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 8

Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #15. Use a tap wrench.
Step 9

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 10

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

AUTODOC recommends:
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
Step 11

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 12

Clean the shock absorber fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 13

Unscrew the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #15. Use a tap wrench.
Step 14

Remove the fastening bolt.
Step 15

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

AUTODOC recommends:
Replacement: coil springs – FORD FIESTA V Van. Lower the transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging components and mechanisms.
Step 16

Remove the spring.

Replacement: coil springs – FORD FIESTA V Van. AUTODOC recommends:
Inspect the rubber mounts of the suspension spring. Replace if necessary.
Step 17

Clean the coil spring mounting seats. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.
Step 18

Install the coil spring together with the rubber mounts into the mounting seats.
Step 19

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 20

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 21

Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 115 Nm torque.

Step 22

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

AUTODOC recommends:
FORD FIESTA V Van – Do not lower the transmission jack sharply to avoid damaging components and mechanisms of the car.
Step 23

Support the rear suspension beam. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.
Step 24

Install the fastening bolt.
Step 25

Screw in the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #15. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 26

Raise the hydraulic transmission jack by 10-15 cm.
Step 27

Tighten the lower fastener of the shock absorber. Use a drive socket #15. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 115 Nm torque.
Step 28

Remove the mounting from under the rear axle beam.

Replacement: coil springs – FORD FIESTA V Van. Tip from AUTODOC experts:
Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, to avoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.
Step 29

Treat the shock absorber fasteners. Use copper grease.
Step 30

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a wire brush.
Step 31

Treat the surface where the wheel rim contacts the brake drum. Use copper grease.
Step 32

Install the wheel.

AUTODOC recommends:
Important! Hold the wheel while screwing in the fastening bolts. FORD FIESTA V Van
Step 33

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.
Step 34

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 95 Nm torque.
Step 35

Remove the jacks and chocks.
